INSTRUCTIONS FOR ONLINE PAYMENT OF RENEWAL FEE, D.C.R. FEE & SUSCRIPTION FOR PUBLICATIONS

Renewal of Registration as an Architect

Please visit website www.coa.gov.in and signup by filling the requisite details and Login ID and Password shall be generated by the system and shall be sent to you through email. 

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL PAYMENT MADE ONLINE SHALL BE ACCOUNTED FOR AFTER SUCCESSFUL CREDIT OF THE SAME TO ACCOUNT OF COUNCIL OF ARCHITECTURE. IN CASE, TRANSACTION IS NOT SUCCEFULLY COMPLETED, YOU CAN WRITE TO COA ON EMAIL ID: <>renewal-coa@gov.in MENTIONING DETAILS OF TRASACTION.  

REFUND OF ALL DISPUTED PAYMENTS SHALL BE PROCESSED AFTER DUE VERIFICATION/ RECONCILIATION BY THE COUNCIL AND SHALL BE SETTLED WITHIN FIFTEEN DAYS FROM THE DATE OF COMMUNICATION.

RENEWAL FEE

  1. One-time payment of renewal fee will be accepted subject to submission of an attested copy of the Final B.Arch. Degree / G.D. Arch. Certificate (received after convocation). Onetime payment will not be accepted on the basis of provisional certificate. In case, registration is granted on the basis of Provision Certificate of Registration, the concerned architects is required to send a scanned copy of Final B.Arch.Degree / G.D. Arch. Certificate thru email on renewal-coa@gov.in for updation in the official record of COA.
  2. All payment options shall be subject to payment of arrears, if any. In case of any clarifications/details are required, please write us on email renewal-coa@gov.in.
  3. An application provided at the print application option at your login section is required to be sent along-with Original Certificate of Registration and other documents as required.
  4. In order to be entitled for registration and/or renewal of certificate of registration, a person/architect should reside or practice the profession of an architect in India.
  5. Correspondence/communication details can be changed online.

RESTORATION FEE

ling to pay the renewal fee by the last date i.e 31st March, restoration fee of Rs.1000/- shall be payable.

FINE & ADDITION FINE

The fine and additional fine is imposed to those who neither renew the Registration in time nor surrender the certificate of Registration to Council.

The fine of Rs.100/- and the additional fine @ Rs.10/- is being charged under Section 38 of the Architects Act, 1972 which reads as under:-

“38. If any person whose name has been removed from the register fails without sufficient cause forthwith to surrender his certificate of registration, he shall be punishable with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees, and, in the case of a continuing failure, with an additional fine which may extend to ten rupees for each day after the first during which he has persisted in the failure.”

In order to avoid fine one should surrender the Certificate of Registration immediately if registration as an Architect is not renewed within the prescribed time.

There is no provision for waiving of any fee/penalty/fine prescribed under the Architects Act, 1972.

ENDORSEMENT ON THE CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION

  1. Endorsement on the Certificate of Registration towards renewal/restoration of registration should be got done as and when payment is made or any later date.
  2. In case of One-Time Payment of renewal fee made, the endorsement on the Certificate of Registration will be done for ten calendar years and thereafter, endorsement for further ten years should be got done, from the Registrar of the Council, without making any further payment.
  3. For further Endorsement/Extension of Registration, who have already opted for One Time Payment of Renewal, are required to send the Form and Original Certificate of Registration to the Office of Council of Architecture. The Form can be downloaded by clicking here

Note:

  1. *Acceptance of Annual Renewal Fee in advance ( i.e. other than current year) shall not be accepted.
  2. ** One-time payment of renewal fee will be accepted subject to submission of an attested copy of the Final B.Arch.Degree / G.D. Arch. Certificate (received after convocation). One time payment will not be accepted on the basis of provisional certificate.
  3. All payment options shall be subject to payment of arrears, if any. In case of any clarifications/details are required, please contact/write to us.
  4. In order to be entitled for registration and/or renewal of certificate of registration, a person/architect should reside or practice the profession of an architect in India.
  5. Change in address/telephone number(s) /e-mail may kindly be intimated to the COA immediately.

Restoration Fee

Failing to pay the renewal fee by the Last Date, only for that year, restoration fee of Rs.1000/- shall be payable w.e.f. 1st April of the year.

Mode of Payment :

  1. Each payment must accompany a letter of request under the signature of the concerned Architect.
  2. Demand Draft/M.O or Cash at the office of the Council.
  3. Payment should be made by a separate Demand Draft for each Architect, in favour of 'COUNCIL OF ARCHITECTURE' payable at Delhi or New Delhi as computerised receipt issued on individual basis.
  4. Payment by cheque (outstation or local) will not be accepted

Endorsement on the Certificate of Registration:

  1. Endorsement on the Certificate of Registration towards renewal/restoration of registration should be got done as and when payment is made or any later date.
  2. In case of one-time payment of renewal fee endorsement on the Certificate of Regtistration will be made at a time for ten calendar years and thereafter, endorsement for further years should be got done,
    from the Registrar of the Council, without making payment therefore.
